So what is human-centered design?

Human-centered design is a process of problem solving that anchors potential solutions around people.

The human-centered design process is composed of three modes of working: learning, strategizing, and ideating.

Learning involves using a toolkit of design research methods to gather data and deeply understand the context of the problem and the people involved.

Strategizing is a phase of synthesizing this large amount of data to connect dots in new ways. Insights from this process shape how stakeholders are communicated to about the problem and also provide a foundation for possible solutions.

Ideating is a process of bringing new ideas, informed by deep research and strategy, to a problem. This form of reimagining considers a broad array of solutions for a holistic outcome.

We believe that everyone can benefit from cultivating a human-centered perspective in their work. We believe that there is value in bringing our expert design approach, but there is also value in leaving behind an organization that has dipped their toes in these skills to start making a difference. That’s why we offer workshops that teach core innovation skills to you and your team. Our standard workshops cover topics like human-centered design 101, collaboration, strategic planning, and brand identity. We also design and facilitate custom workshops to help you learn more specific skills or tackle more honed-in problems. Workshops can range from a 1-on-1 session to large groups.
